Having trouble falling asleep is one of the most common signs of loneliness. Studies indicate that loneliness can mess up with your sleep cycle, drastically reducing your chances of getting a restful night's sleep.

If you are having fragmented sleep, can’t sleep peacefully at a stretch, you must consider seeking help.
Well, if you are lonely, depressed and sad, and all of your friends are also sailing in the same boat, chances are this is more than a coincidence. Keeping yourself surrounded by lonely people all day long can lead you into believing that you are also lonely, or don’t deserve to be happy.

On the flip side, if you only see yourself seeking the company of the sad and the depressed, you must look for other signs of loneliness in your behavior and seek the required help.

Have you been too online of late? Do you seem to be cut-off from real-life happenings and lost in the mirage of likes, shares, and comments? Well, having too many online friends may somehow be an indicator of you being lonely deep inside. If your Facebook friends are the only friends that you have, you need to evaluate what’s happening.

Netflix, YouTube or Prime Video are excellent sources of entertainment. But, if you have been binge-watching shows for months altogether without going out or talking to your friends or family members, it may be more than just your love for that TV series. While it also is an indicator of lack of control, it is a common sign of loneliness as well.

Some signs of loneliness is manifested so deep into our behavior that it becomes difficult at times for us to take a note of them. But, it is only when you are familiar with the signs, can you take the required corrective actions.

While there is no shortcut to turn the loneliness table overnight, you can always start by pushing yourself to go out and socialize. Try limiting your social media activity and engage in physically demanding activities such as jogging or gymming. Therapy and personalized counseling have been found to be really effective. If therapy or personalized sessions are something you cannot afford or if the idea simply doesn’t appeal to you, you may even look for some personality development and wellbeing courses online and help yourself at your own pace.

Loneliness is not something you cannot help yourself out of. It’s quite common and a few dedicated efforts on your part can really change the scenario. Wish you luck!
